Destination: Turkey. That and the decision to work intensively together with Bruhan Öcal – a Turkish percussionist and oud player who lives in Switzerland – characterized the George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band's tour in February and March 2000. Stefan Schwietert's film not only portrays the concert tour, it is also an encounter with the Orient – a journey to Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir where the band performed, as well as a thematic journey which includes an engrossing account of Oriental music.
