The story of a whole generation that lost their youth in the Siberian gulag. This film is not so much about facts highlighting the tragic chaos of postwar history. Instead it leads its viewers through the world of Siberian labor camps using archival footage. Also, it is dedicated to individuals that never gave up hope even in the darkest moments of Stalinist tyranny. On the contrary: the touching stories of these individuals show and prove that any man and any woman that has come under the wheels of history, can in the end return home as a human being, free of bitterness, warmhearted, and capable of reconciliation.
