The story of some Polish survivors of the Holocaust, who as children were hidden and given false identities. Ever since the war, Elzbieta Ficowska has been trying to trace her real mother, with the help of a photo, and find the assets her father is believed to have deposited in Switzerland. Jadwiga Kotowska, the only member of her family to survive, recognises herself in a TV film, as a child begging in the ghetto. Zygmunt Warszawer survived thanks to a Polish farmer and his wife, who welcomed and hid him. Half-remembered fragments of daily experience, dreams, feelings brought together in a film essay, a Polish mosaic.
