The building portrait “Sagrada” by Stefan Haupt and the “Glauser” portrait by Christoph Kühn will be screened in the International Competition at the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) in Montreal. Five other feature-length and short documentary film productions will also be presented. The festival is one of the largest in the world devoted entirely to films about art.

Two Swiss documentary films are in the running for the Grand Prix, together with 37 other films from a total of 16 countries, at the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) in Montreal (March 14-24, 2013). “Sagrada” documents the unique building project by the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona. This film by Stefan Haupt celebrated its premiere last August in Locarno and will also be screened this month at the Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival in Greece and at the Miami International Film Festival. In “Glauser” – which premiered in Locarno one year earlier – Christoph Kühn portrays the Swiss author Friedrich Glauser, who is considered one of the first mystery writers in the German language. The International Competition is devoted to films which were produced within the past three years.

“Regilaul” and “Rolf Iseli”
Two feature-length Swiss documentary films will be screened in the Horizons section together with Ulrike Koch’s “Regilaul – Lieder aus der Luft” – a coproduction with Estonia about the Estonian culture of vocal music – and Claude Stadelmann’s artist portrait “Rolf Iseli dialogue avec les traces du temps.” Three short film productions – including Giuseppe Bucci’s 26-minute dance film “Ida y vuelta” (Aller et retour) – round off the Swiss presence in Montreal. The International Festival of Films on Art is one of the largest in the world devoted entirely to films about art. This year the festival will screen 248 film productions from 30 countries, films which portray the art disciplines of architecture, theatre, dance, art history, painting, music or photography.
