Swiss presence at Hof International Film Festival

German premieres of four new Swiss film productions are on the programme of the 43rd Hof International Film Festival, (October 27 - November 1). With Frédéric Mermoud’s “Complices” (production: Saga Productions, Lausanne), a French-speaking feature film in French will be the limelight of this year’s festival in Bavaria, which ranks among the more important on the German film scene.
The following documentary films will be screened with the filmmakers present in Hof: “Geburt” by Silvia Haselbeck and Erich Langjahr; “Charlie Haden” by Reto Caduff; as well as “sounds and silence – unterwegs mit Manfred Eicher” by Peter Guyer and Norbert Wiedmer. In conjunction with the retrospective dedicated to Italian actor Lou Castel, the festival will also screen Daniel Schmid’s film “Violanta” (1977).
