Born in 1972 im Mumbai, India. Indian citizenship. Studied Sociology and Anthropology in Mumbai. Received MFA in Cinema from the SIU (Southern Illinois University) in Carbondale. 2006 she won the National Indian Film Award for her documentary THE SEEDKEEPERS. 2013 she received an IDFA Award for First Appearance for her film MY NAME IS SALT.
