Born in 1971 in Männedorf, Switzerland. Apprenticeship as graphic designer. Until 1994 works as self-employed graphic designer. Since 1995 works in film and television in the areas of directing, filming, production and lighting. 1996-97 Works as independent film director at Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF). In 1998 he realized his first short film LILIA, which was awarded "Best Short Film" at the Festival del Film Locarno. BROMBEERCHEN (2002) was his first feature-length film, followed by SCHWARZE SCHAFE (2006), which attained cult status in Berlin, his adoptive home as of 1999. He is founder and partner of Port au Prince Film & Kultur Produktion since 2008.
