Sean Wirz (*1988) is a film director and screenwriter. His short films have screened at numerous film festivals worldwide, including Uppsala SFF, Aesthetica SFF York, Filmfest Dresden and Brest European SFF. His documentary short GRENZENLOS (2022) portrays the 19-year-old Afghan refugee Mohadeseh on her rocky search for an apprenticeship and celebrated its world premiere at the Zurich Film Festival as part of the anthology FUTURA! (2022). In addition to fiction and advertising, Sean produces works with a social character. These include a film workshop for people with a physical disability, or a short documentary on the everyday life and perspectives of people affected by dementia. Sean studied in Australia, Zurich and New York City. He lives in Bern, Switzerland, and dives into the cool waters of his beloved river Aare all year round.
