Dans un compartiment de train, quelque part entre Bruxelles et Lausanne, Manu rencontre Nedjad, exilé bosniaque à la recherche de sa femme. Comme dans toutes les histoires d'exilés, celle-ci commence par un douanier, par le rappel des frontières, barrières rigides et froides par-dessus lesquelles se construisent les récits d'amours et naissent les errances.
