En faisant un bout de chemin avec Nora et Dario, les enfants du défunt Carlo E. Lischetti - peintre, sculpteur, vidéaste, «actionniste», performer et jongleur de mots - le film lève le voile sur une histoire familiale, un pan de l'histoire récente, un courant artistique ainsi qu'un vent de renouveau politique. Des amis de la famille et des compagnons de route comme Max Rüdlinger, Polo Hofer et Heinz Däpp tentent de faire revivre l'esprit de Carlo, sa bouffonnerie, son espièglerie, de même que l'action qu'il a menée en tant qu'artiste subversif qui a terrorisé les bourgeois.
