Le film est l'histoire d'une rencontre musicale entre les batteurs Pierre Favre, Fritz Hauser, Daniel Humair et Fredy Studer. Le réalisateur les a réuni à Zurich le 6 janvier 1997 et les suit pendant quatre jours de répétitions. La confrontation de ces artistes si différents culmine lors du concert.
