Au fond du Val Rovana, au Tessin, se trouvent deux petits villages: Campo Vallemaggia et Cimalmotto. Il y a trois cents ans, il y avait mille personnes vivant ici, aujourd'hui il y en a que cinquante. Les protagonistes sont trois fermiers, un fermier local et deux suisses alémaniques, qui exploitent trois types différents d'agriculture de montagne, ainsi qu'un descendant de la famille Pedrazzini. Grâce à eux, cette région éloignée au fond de la vallée reste habitée toute l'année.
In fondo alla Val Rovana, Ticino, si trovano due paesini: Campo Vallemaggia e Cimalmotto. Trecento anni fa in questi nuclei vivevano mille persone, oggi ne rimangono una cinquantina. Tre famiglie contadine, più un discendente della famiglia Pedrazzini, promotore di diversi progetti per la rinascita della regione, sono i protagonisti grazie ai quali questo angolo remoto rimane popolato durante le quattro stagioni.
