Diego Baldenweg with Nora Baldenweg & Lionel Baldenweg are a composer team from Zurich.
Since 2004 the Swiss/Australian siblings have written film music for feature films such as Robert Lorenz’s IN THE LAND OF SAINTS AND SINNERS, Mike Schaerer's THE LITTLE WITCH (Die Kleine Hexe), Michael Steiner's RASCALS ON THE ROAD (Mein Name ist Eugen), Til Schweiger's HEAD FULL OF HONEY, Cihan Inan's 180°, Rolf Lyssy’s THE FINAL TOUCH (Die Letzte Pointe), Stefan Haupt’s THE REFORMER ZWINGLI. They have also composed for short films such as Lisa Brühlmann’s HYLAS UND DIE NYMPHEN and Timo von Gunten’s Oscar nominated LA FEMME ET LE TGV. They have collaborated with many acclaimed musicians, orchestras and conductors including maestro David Zinman, Paavo Järvi, Kevin Griffiths, Dirk Brossé, Bandleader Pepe Lienhard and star violinist Daniel Hope.
They have also composed the scores for international TV series like THE UNLISTED (ABC/Netflix), ITCH (ABC/BBC) and BORN TO SPY (ABC/BBC).
They won the Suisa Prize for “Best Film Music” for 180° at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2010 as well as the Swiss Film Prize for “Best Film Music” for “THE LITTLE WITCH in 2018. They were nominated for “Score of the Year” (Public Choice) for THE REFORMER ZWINGLI at the World Soundtrack Awards in 2019 and they have been nominated multiple times for the Music+Sound Awards (International) as well as 3 times for “Best Original Music in Television” at the Australian Academy Awards (AACTA).
They are voting members of the European Film Academy, the Swiss Film Academy and the Australian Academy of Cinema & TV.
