Born in Novosibirsk in 1984. Graduated from Gorky University in Ekaterinburg. After working as a journalist for the Federal press agency, he moved to France to obtain an MA in creative documentary filmmaking from the Lussac documentary school. Alexander’s first feature-length documentary SLEEPING SOULS (2013) was screened at many international film festivals, such as Cinéma du réel, IDFF Ji.hlava, Vilnius IHRD FF, Les Écrans Documentaires, Les Étoiles de la Scam and the 23rd dokumentART. In 2018, he directed THE SON, his first feature documentary, was selected, among others, at the Berlinale Forum, Cinéma du Réel. PARADISE is his second feature documentary .
