Sarah Spale
Actor
Born 1980 in Basel, Switzerland. She studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice at the University of Hildesheim. She then trained as an actress in Baden-Württemberg. Sarah Spale made her debut in front of the camera in the television film DILEMMA. She was nominated for a Swiss Film Award for this role in 2003. In 2008, she played Sophie Preisig in the Swiss television series TAG UND NACHT. Spale received international acclaim for her portrayal of Catarina Mendez in the literary adaptation NACHTZUG NACH LISSABON, directed by Bille August, alongside leading actors Jeremy Irons, Bruno Ganz and Martina Gedeck. She has worked as a theatre actress at the Junges Theater Basel and the Stadttheater Hildesheim, among others. In 2021, she won the Swiss Film Award, Best Actress, for the leading role in PLATZSPITZBABY by Pierre Monnard.
