Il n'y a pas de place pour l'aventure dans le quotidien de Stefan Busch, qui vit dans une communauté d'habitation assistée. Mais lors d'une excursion en groupe, sa vie prend un tournant décisif: sans hésiter, le jeune homme, que tout le monde appelle Buschi, se joint à un groupe de voyageurs japonais. C'est au cours de ce road trip insolite que naît une amitié discrète entre Buschi et Hideo Kitamura.
