Martin est rejeté par sa mère avec des sentiments froids, battu par son père; une enfance sans amour. L'histoire ressemble à une étude de cas tirée du livre «Le drame de l'enfant doué» de la pédopsychologue suisse de renommée mondiale Alice Miller. Mais Martin est son fils. Après sa mort, il part à la découverte du drame qui se cache derrière tout: la Shoa, l'anéantissement du peuple juif, que sa mère à peine échappé en Pologne.
