Bernadette Kolonko

Born in 1985, studied photography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst, Leipzig and at the ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts). 2018 MA in Film Directing at Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. 2018-21 fellow at ZHdK in the IPF's Pre-PhD Programme Fellowship and developed an artistic research project on Feminist Gazes in contemporary feature film cinema. In addition to realising her short films, which are screened internationally at festivals (including Palm Springs Short Fest), she does dramaturgical consultations and gives workshops on queer-feminist film work. She also writes texts on queer-feminist topics and searches for other forms of storytelling. Since 2019, she has been a lecturer and mentor at ZHdK, HSLU, CISA, among others, and is involved in the field of gender & diversity both in the film industry and in universities (including co-curating "Diversity Cinema"). In spring 2023, her first book publication "Unsichtbares und Ungesagtes" will be published by Schüren Verlag, Marburg.
