Né en 1962 à Neuilly sur Seine (France). Nationalité suisse et française. Il a étudié le piano et la musicologie. Il est connu pour ses documentaires sur les musiciens, compositeurs et interprètes, comme MARTHA ARGERICH, EVENING TALKS (2002) et sa trilogie sur la musique brésilienne: MARIA BETHÂNIA, MUSICA É PER- FUME (2005), RIO SONATA (2010) et O SAMBA (2014). Avec WHERE ARE YOU, JOÃO GILBERTO? (2018), il a créé une nouvelle forme narrative entre la fiction et le documentaire. La première de MISTY – THE ERROLL GARNER STORY (2024) aura lieu en 2024.
