Born in 1977, Kamran Heydari is a photographer and film-maker based in Shiraz, with an interest in street photography, graffiti and ethno-music. His work focuses on people of Shiraz (Fars Province) and Southern Iran (Afro-Iranian community). MY NAME IS NEGAHDAR JAMALI AND I MAKE WESTERNS (2012), his first medium-length documentary was screened in many festivals around the world, including Busan and Rotterdam. His first feature-length documentary ALI AQA premiered in competition at IDFA in 2017.
