Born in 1977 in Gachsaran, Iran. He works as a photographer and filmmaker based in Shiraz, with an interest in street photography, graffiti and ethno-music. His work focuses on people of Shiraz and Southern Iran. MY NAME IS NEGAHDAR JAMALI AND I MAKE WESTERNS (2012), his first medium-length documentary was screened in many festivals around the world, including Busan and Rotterdam. His first feature-length documentary ALI AQA premiered in competition at IDFA in 2017.
