Werner Fankhauser earns a net income of two thousand one hundred francs for a ninety-percent job at the factory. Even those who earn a thousand francs more do not get very far. More than half a million people live in poverty in the wealthy country of Switzerland. These men and women are called the «working poor» because their lives are occupied with working for meagre wages. To what kind of jobs does our society attach so little value? What is everyday life like for poor people? What do they do in their free time? Do they go to the cinema? Where do they go on holiday?
