Should the government get involved in promoting and funding the arts? In the 1960s this question was avidly discussed in the small, sedate Swiss Canton of Aargau. A film about a visionary patron of the arts, a performance artist who mysteriously disappears and a unique arts funding scheme. Authentic Super-8 material, found footage and reconstructed scenes are interlaced with visual virtuosity into a spirited portrayal of an eventful time.
