She is a happy mother with a successful career and a passionate rower, claims Julia when she introduces herself to Elias. Actually, this is no longer correct, for her husband Robert has just lost his job with an international financial group. As the team leader in the social welfare department, Julia has to look after more and more people who no longer qualify for unemployment benefits, as well as her ageing mother and her two children, who simply refuse to toe the line. Her idle pubescent son Pascal is Julia’s real worry, however. When Elias fishes Julia out of the water, she has just capsized while rowing.
