A young, recently divorced father attempts a reconciliation with his wife and children. Accompanied by a friend from work, who thinks he is going off for a few quiet days by the seaside, he turns up unexpectedly at the little house in the south of France where his family has moved to. Too anxious to go back home, in too much of a hurry to explain himself, he draws everyone into a weekend that is explosive but rich in incident.

Volendo riconciliarsi con la moglie e i figli, un giovane padre appena divorziato sbarca senza preavviso nella piccola casa nel Sud della Francia dove la sua famiglia si è ritirata. Commedia drammatica, tempesta famigliare, On dirait le Sud combina scrittura e improvvisazione in uno spirito che lo avvicina al «cinema diretto». Girato in MiniDV nell’arco di pochi giorni, il film si è costruito a partire da un canovaccio scritto che gli attori hanno liberamente sviluppato. Il risultato è un’opera grezza, sincera e stimolante.
