“180°” wins award for Best Screenplay in Ourense (Spain)

The Swiss feature film “180°” by Cihan Inan was honoured with the Cidade de A La Curuña Award for Best Screenplay, endowed with EUR 2,000, at the 16th Ourense International Film Festival (October 14-23, 2011).

The Swiss feature film “180°” by Cihan Inan was honoured with the Cidade de A La Curuña Award for Best Screenplay, endowed with EUR 2,000, at the 16th Ourense International Film Festival (October 14-23, 2011). In addition, two short film productions from Switzerland – “Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46” and “Baka!!” – won awards at the 11th International Short Film Festival in Lille (October 18-23, 2011).

The award in Ourense marks the fifth for the film "180°" (C-Films, Zurich) since it premiered one year ago at the Zurich Film Festival. Cihan Inan is both director and screenwriter of the ensemble film which has been screened at more than ten international festivals. Actress Carla Juri won the Swiss Film Prize "Quartz 2011" for her role in the film. Seven Swiss film productions were screened at the festival in northwest Spain, including the short film "Little Fighters" by Ivana Lalovic, who was presented a Special Mention. In 2008 two other Swiss film productions were honoured with awards at the festival: "Glorious Exit" by Kevin Merz; and the successful short film "Auf der Strecke" by Reto Caffi.

With the award for Best Fiction Film at the 11th International Short Film Festival in Lille, Anthony Vouardoux garnered the 20th award for his science fiction film "Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46." The award consists of film material amounting to EUR 1,500. The short animation film "Baka!!" by Immanuel Wagner won the award for Best Animation, consisting of two days of recording in the sound studio and amounting to EUR 1,500.
