«Angry Monk», «The Giant Buddhas», and «Al-Anfal» at Singapur filmfest

At the 19th Singapore International Film Festival, taking place from April 13 – 29, 2006, the films «Angry Monk» by Luc Schaedler and «The Giant Buddhas» by Christian Frei will be presented in the «World Cinema» program. Both films stand up for identity, diversity, and tolerance. In the «Free Programme» section, «Al-Anfal, - In the Name of Allah, Baath, and Saddam», by Kurdish filmmaker and Bernese resident Mano Khalil, will be shown. The film gives voice to the victims of the war against the Kurds (1988-1991).
«Angry Monk» and «The Giant Buddhas» have already been featured at numerous international festivals. Both films were invited to screen at the renowned Sundance Film Festival in Park City (USA), at the Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival, and at events in Munich and Vancouver.
