The short film “Dürä..!” by Quinn Reimann and Rolf Lang won the 1st Prize, endowed with EUR 2,300, at the 22nd Short Film Festival in Cergy-Pontoise, France (March 30 - April 1, 2012). The animation film “Baka!!” by Immanuel Wagner, produced at the Lucerne School of Art and Design, won the Third Prize of the European Student Film Competition at the 15th Holland Animation Film Festival HAFF in Utrecht (March 28 - April 1). The fiction film debut “Sinestesia” by Ticinese director Erik Bernasconi garnered no less than three awards at the 10th Busto Arsizio Film Festival (March 24-31): the film won awards for Best Actor, Best Actress in a Supporting Role and – ex-æquo – for Best Cinematography.

The award for the 29-minute film “Dürä..!” is the third since it celebrated its premiere at the Munich International Festival of Filmschools in November 2009. The jury of the festival in Cergy-Pontoise near Paris was comprised of five film professionals.

The three-member jury of the Festivals HAFF in Utrecht, Holland, stated its reason for awarding “Baka!!”: “We think the animator made a very courageous and bold decision for sending in this clip.” This prize is the fourth for this animation film since it celebrated its premiere at the Fantoche Festival in Baden in September 2010.

The jury of the Busto Arsizio Film Festival in Varese presented awards to Alessio Boni (Best Actor) and Giorgia Würth (Best Actress in a Supporting Role) for their roles in the film “Sinestesia,” as well as the award for Best Cinematography to Pietro Zürcher. In 2010 “Sinestesia” was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize “Quartz” in three categories – Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Best Emerging Actor or Actress.
