01.06.2006

On the occasion of the Cannes film market, the distribution rights for the Swiss feature film «Vitus» by Fredi M. Murer (Production: Hugo Film, Zurich) were sold to additional countries by its world distributor Media Luna (Cologne): In turn, Civite will distribute the film in Spain, IFD in Belgium, and Hansion Media in China. «Snow White» by Samir (Production: Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich) has been sold for distribution in Taiwan (Cineplex) and Singapore (Overseas Distributions). Negotiations with buyers from Sweden and Russia are currently also held through the film’s world distributor Wide Management (Paris).
Along with «Vitus» and «Snow White», the professional film audience at the «Marché International du Film», which included distribution companies, movie theatre owners, and festival officials, were interested in additional Swiss films shown at Cannes: «Fragile» by Laurent Nègre (Prod. Bord Cadre Films, Geneva), «La mémoire des autres/Moon on the Snow» by Pilar Anguita Mackay (Olympia Films, Zurich), «Jeune Homme» by Christoph Schaub (T&C Film, Zurich), and «Face Addict» (Prod. Amka Film, Savosa). French and German world distributors showed interest in the first-time feature «Fragile», which has already been shown at several international festivals (Prix TV 5 at the Cinéma Tout Ecran festival in Geneva, and audience award at the Festival Du Film d’Amour in Mons, Belgium). At Cannes, the film «Jeune Homme» was shown to an international professional audience for the first time. It was represented by world distributor Onoma (Paris).
