A gala presence has been reserved once again for Swiss filmmaking at the 17th Osaka European Film Festival (November 18-23, 2010). Sévérine Cornamusaz – award-winner of this year’s Quartz for Best Fiction Film – will present her internationally acclaimed feature film debut “Coeur animal” personally in Japan’s second largest metropolis.

The film festival in Osaka offers the Japanese audience cinematic highlights from Europe and concomitantly serves as an excellent distribution platform for European film productions. In conjunction with the partnership between SWISS FILMS, the film promotion agency, and the festival established in 2002, at least one Swiss film is place in the limelight every year: in 2009 Oliver Paulus presented "Tandoori Love"; in 2008 Fulvio Bernasconi travelled to Japan with "Fuori dalle corde"; in 2007 directors Andrea Staka and Bettina Oberli were in Japan with the films "Das Fräulein" and "Die Herbstzeitlosen"; and in 2006 Fredi M. Murer presented "Vitus."
