Films between cinema and television in Geneva

The12th International Film and Television Festival «Cinéma tout écran» taking place from October 30 to November 5, 2006, features television and film productions, which often include Swiss premieres. In several competitions, more than 20 prizes will be bestowed. In the international competition, which includes 14 films, «Pas de panique» by Western Swiss Denis Rabaglia will be shown as the only world premiere. In addition, the feature film «Comme des voleurs - (A l`Est)» by Lionel Baier will be screened, which also celebrates its theatrical release in the Western part of Switzerland in November.
In the «Regards d`aujourd`hui» competition, the Swiss production «Alles bleibt anders» will be presented. Premiering in the Western part of the country are the Swiss German films «Die Herbstzeitlosen/Late Bloomers» by Bettina Oberli, and «Sonjas Rückkehr» by Tobias Ineichen. During a Swiss day on November 3 titled «Swiss Skills» and partnered by the Swiss Federal Ministry of Culture, several events and activities will focus on Swiss filmmaking.



On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the Geneva production company of Rabaglia’s «Pas de panique» will present two films that it co-produced: «Nos archives secretes» (Our secret archives) by Noël Tortajada and Nicoals Frey, and «Sartre, l’âge des passions» (Sartre – the age of passions) by Claude Goretta.



In addition, several Swiss long and short films can be discovered both at the Festival «Cinéma tout écran» and at its parallel event «Cinématou-enfant», which independently presents animated and feature films.



In cooperation with SWISS FILMS, «Cinéma Tout Écran» is organizing the GENEVA SELECT MARKET. This film and television market offers the professional audience a selection of foreign and Swiss films.
