Contemporary Swiss filmmaking will be showcased at the Kolkata Film Festival in Calcutta (November 10-17, 2011), one of the largest film festivals in India. SWISS FILMS, the promotion agency, has collaborated as the partner for “Focus Switzerland: Mountains And More.” The film programme will open on November 11 with the feature film “Tandoori Love,” thereby forging a link to the Indian subcontinent. Film director Oliver Paulus, whose film “Wenn der Richtige kommt” was screened at the Kolkata Film Festival in 2005, will present “Tandoori Love” together with several Indian participants in the film.

Peter Luisi, who was invited to the festival in 2007 with "Love Made Easy," will also attend the festival in India and present his comedy "Der Sandmann." Furthermore, two winners of the Swiss Film Prize - "Coeur Animal" (director: Séverine Cornamusaz) in 2010 and "La petite chamber" (directors: Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond) in 2011 - will be screened in the "Mountains And More" section together with the following films: "Sennentuntschi" by Michael Steiner; "Home" by Ursula Meier; "Tannöd" by Bettina Oberli; "180°" by Cihan Inan; "Der grosse Kater" by Wolfgang Panzer; and "Satte Farben vor Schwarz" by Sophie Heldman.

Following the film festival in Calcutta, the Swiss film programme will be presented in Bardhaman and Siliguri City in West Bengal.
