06.11.2007

The 10th edition of the “Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal” (RIDM) takes place from November 8 – 18, 2007, and this year’s program will present four Swiss documentary films. The film “Bruno Manser – Laki Penan” by Christoph Kühn (Prod. Filmkollektiv Zürich) will compete in the “ÉcoCaméra” section. The two films “Faustrecht” by Bernard Weber and Robi Müller and “Zeit des Abschieds” by Mehdi Sahebi (Cineworx Filmproduktion, Basel) will be screened in the “Caméra-stylo” section. The film “Shake The Devil Off”, the most recent documentary by Swiss-American Peter Entell, will be screened at the closing of the festival, with the film’s protagonist Pater LeDoux in attendance.
Marianne Bucher, the producer of the film “Bruno Manser – Laki Penan”, and the directors Bernard Weber and Peter Entell will travel to Montreal to present their film personally.

The “Rencontres internationales du documentaire” was founded in 1998 by documentary filmmakers from Québec who wanted to showcase documentary films that would encourage new ways of looking at reality. One hundred films from 30 countries will be presented this year. Parallel to the festival on November 12 and 13 is the 3rd edition of the documentary film market “DOC CIRCUIT MTL”.
