Four Swiss Films in Guangzhou (China)

30.11.2007

Four Swiss films have been invited to the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, which runs from December 2 – 8, 2007: “A Crude Awakening – The Oil Crash” by Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack (Lava Productions Zürich); “Building the Gherkin” by Mirjam von Arx (production: Condor Communications, Zurich); “Henri Cartier-Bresson” by Heinz Bütler (production: NZZ); and “Zum Abschied Mozart” by Christian Labhart (production: Filmkollektiv Zürich). The four films, together with more than 80 documentary films, will be screened to the public in the international program and to the visitors of the film market in Guangzhou, located in the south of China.
The festival also marks the start of the tour of these films in China. The tour will continue until autumn 2008. The relatively young Chinese documentary film festival in Guangzhou has collaborated with the Leipzig Documentary Film Festival since 2004. With its competition, market and the tour, the festival offers Swiss documentary films an excellent platform. The presence of the four films is supported by SWISS FILMS.
