The feature film “La petite chambre” by Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond, honoured with two Swiss Film Prizes in 2011, will be one of the European highlights presented at the 18th Osaka European Film Festival (November 18-23, 2011). The festival will showcase the internationally acclaimed film at a gala screening in the 20-million metropolis in Japan, with Thierry Faber, the film’s editor, in attendance.

The film festival in Osaka presents the audience in Japan cinematic highlights from Europe and constitutes in Japan an applicable distribution platform for films from the Old Continent. In conjunction with the partnership initiated between SWISS FILMS, the promotion agency, and the festival in Japan in 2002, at least one Swiss film production has received a prominent screening every year: in 2010 Sévérine Cornamusaz presented her feature film debut "Coeur animal," which was also honoured with a "Quartz"; in 2009 Oliver Paulus travelled with "Tandoori Love" to the second largest city in Japan; in 2008 Fulvio Bernasconi was in Osaka with "Fuori dalle corde"; in 2007 directors Andrea Staka and Bettina Oberli were in Japan with the films "Das Fräulein" and "Die Herbstzeitlosen"; and in 2006 Fredi M. Murer presented "Vitus."
