German Film Prize for Swiss cinematographer

Swiss cinematographer Rainer Klausmann was awarded the “German Film Prize in Gold” for his camera work on the film “Gegen die Wand” (“Head-On”) by Fatih Akin. Carrying a sum of 10,000 Euro, it was presented in Berlin on June 18th by Cultural Minister Dr. Christina Weiss. The German Film Prize represents the highest German award for film and was bestowed in 2004 for the 54th time in several categories.
With Rainer Klausmann, one of the most experienced cinematographers in the German speaking part of Europe received this prize. Klausmann previously displayed his talent working with Swiss directors such as Hans Liechti (“Akropolis Now”, 1984), Markus Imboden (“Katzendiebe/Cat Thieves”, 1996; “Comedians”, 2000), Urs Odermatt (“Rotlicht!/Red Light!”, 1986; “Gekauftes Glück /Happiness Bought”, 1988; “Wachtmeister Zumbühl/Constable Zumbühl ”, 1994) as well as Christof Vorster (“Schatten der Liebe/Shadows of Love”, 1992; “Das Stille Haus/The Quiet House”, 1995), among others.
