Manuel von Stürler’s documentary film “Hiver nomade” and Rolando Colla’s short film “Einspruch VI” were honoured with awards at festivals in France this past weekend: at the “Cinessonne” Festival held just outside Paris and at the Amiens International Film Festival. This is indeed a good sign for the two films nominated European Film Award, which will be presented on December 1.

“Hiver nomade” won two awards at the 14th “Cinessonne Festival du Cinéma Européen” (November 13-25, 2012): the Special Jury Award and the Student Jury Award, endowed with EUR 1,000. This debut film by Manuel von Stürler celebrated its premiere at this year’s Berlinale. Claude Muret, co-author of the film, accepted the award at the ceremony in Essonne. “Hiver Nomade” has already attracted more than 24,000 viewers in cinemas since its theatrical release in Switzerland. The short film “Prora” also won an award at the “Cinessonne”: the “Grand Prix du Conseil général de l’Essonne,” endowed with EUR 7,500 support funds. The film’s director Stéphane Riethauser accepted the award personally at the ceremony. The film had already won an award in Brest last week.

Awards in Amiens and Brescia
Rolando Colla’s short film “Einspruch VI” won three awards at the 32nd Amiens Festival International du Film: the “Prix Fémis,” the “Prix des Enfants de la Licorne” and the “Prix Canal 10” of the prison in Amiens. On the same weekend, the film also won the award for Best Director at the 9th Lab Festival (November 17-24) in Brescia. Both “Hiver nomade” and “Einspruch VI” have been nominated for the European Film Award, which will be presented on December 1.
