“Home” wins two awards in Mexico

Ursula Meier’s fiction film “Home” was honoured with yet more two awards, this time at the 5th Monterrey International Film Festival (August 21-29, 2009): the award for “Best Cinematography” went to the film’s French cinematographer Agnès Godard, and the award for “Best Sound” to the Swiss sound engineer Luc Yersin, who passed away in 2008. Ursula Meier attended the festival and accepted the awards.
Seven films were screened in the Feature Fiction Film competition of this festival held in northeast Mexico: apart from the awards for “Home”, the film “Three Wise Men” by Finnish director Mika Kaurismäki was honoured as “Best Feature Fiction Film” and the Italian director Paolo Sorrentino for “Il Divo” with “Best Director” and “Best Screenplay”. The French-Swiss-Belgian coproduction “Home” has already won 20 awards since ist premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2008, launching a successful festival and cinema career at home and abroad. The film will be released in Austrian cinemas on September 4.
