International awards for three Swiss films

Two Swiss documentary films were honoured with awards at the 8th International Filmfest Eberswalde (October 1-8, 2011).

Two Swiss documentary films were honoured with awards at the 8th International Filmfest Eberswalde (October 1-8, 2011): “Kampf der Königinnen” by Nicolas Steiner won the “Provinziale” award in the International Competition for Documentary Film, endowed with EUR 2,500; the film “Nomad's Land” by Gaël Métroz was presented the Audience Award in the International Competition for Documentary Film, endowed with EUR 1,000. Anthony Vouardoux’s short science fiction film “Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46” won the award for Best Editing at the 6th Sapporo Short Fest in Japan (October 5-10, 2011).

The three-member jury presented the main award to "Kampf der Königinnen," Nicolas Steiner's first feature-length documentary film, which he shot during his studies at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg. The director accepted the award personally at the festival in Eberswalde.
