The animation filmmaker Isabelle Favez will be featured as the guest in Holon, Israel, from December 5-10, 2011. In collaboration with SWISS FILMS, the promotion agency, and as part of the cultural exchange called “Culturescapes,” the Israel Film Archive in Holon is devoting a retrospective of works by the promising filmmaker from Bern. In addition, a “Best of” programme will be presented, showcasing 14 other short animation film productions from Switzerland. Isabelle Favez will offer two Master classes, one at the Bezalel Arts Academy in Jerusalem and the second in Holon.

Isabelle Favez was honoured with a homage last May at the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film. Her films presented in Israel will include: "Valise" (2009); "Tarte aux pommes" (2006); "Circuit Marine" (2003); "Les voltigeurs" (2002); "Replay" (1999); and "Lebenshunger" (1993). Further short animation films from Switzerland to be screened are: "Banquise" (2005) by Claude Barras and Cédric Louis; "Miramare" (2009) by Michaela Müller; "Jeu" (2006) by Georges Schwizgebel; and "La main de l'ours" (2008) by Marina Rosset.

The Israel Film Archive in Holon, which has established itself within the past five years as the reference for animation film in Israel, is part of a major culture center in Holon, which also houses the Design Museum and the Israeli Cartoon Museum.
