«Jeu/Play» – Best Animated Film in Ottawa

26.09.2006

At the renowned Ottawa International Animation Festival, which took place for the 30th time this year and ended on September 24, 2006, «Jeu/Play» by Georges Schwizgebel was given the award for «Best Animated Film» in the «Experimental/Abstract Animation» category which was part of the «Independent Shorts Animation» competition.
«Jeu» was in the running for the award along with 10 additional short and non-narrative animated films under 35 minutes. The jury members, including Konstantin Bronzit (Russia), Rob Coleman (Canada), and Jeff Scher (USA), were inspired by the celebration of color and movement, reminiscent of MCLaren.

Currently, «Jeu/Play» is being screened ahead of the feature film «Das Fraulein» in movie theaters in the Western part of Switzerland, and it will be released in the German-speaking part in mid-November. In addition, «Jeu/Play» will be presented as part of the Short Film Nights tour in the Romandie and the Ticino. The tour begins in Geneva on September 29, with Georges Schwizgebel in attendance.
