The Swiss documentary film “Space Tourists” by Christian Frei was honoured with the Special Jury Award at the 7th International Documentary Festival in Seoul (August 23-29, 2010). Twelve films from four continents were in the running for the award, which was endowed with 5 million Korean won, amounting to CHF 4,250.

The statement of the five-member jury, presided over by German filmmaker Pepe Danquart, was as follows: "The Special Jury Award is given to SPACE TOURIST by CHRISTIAN FREI for its exceptional cinematography, its art direction and the quality of the editing. This film illustrates in an original way to what extremes our world has come to. By focusing on the paradoxes of results of the space race, this film brings the audience to reflect to what means some people will go to fulfil their passion, while most of the people still live in subnormal conditions. From outer space to rocket garbage, SPACE TOURIST is a capturing documentary."

"Space Tourists" has already been invited to over 30 international film festivals and won seven awards, including the prestigious World Cinema Directing Award at the Sundance Film Festival 2010.
