Kacey Mottet Klein and “A perdre la raison” nominated for a César

Kacey Mottet Klein, the 15-year-old actor from Vaud, has been nominated for a César Award in the category of Best Newcomer Actor for his role in “L’enfant d’en haut” (Sister). In addition, the coproduction “A perdre la raison” is competing for a César Award as Best Foreign Film. The 38th award ceremony for the César, the French Oscar, will take place in the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on February 22.

Switzerland will be represented twice at the 38th award ceremony for the coveted César, taking place in the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on Februar 22, 2013. As announced by the “Académie des Arts et Techniques du cinéma,” the young actor Kacey Mottet Klein, from Vaud, is among the five actors competing in the category of Best Newcomer Actor. His role as Simon in Ursula Meier’s successful film “L’enfant d’en haut” (Sister) garnered him this nomination. The César is the ultimate film award in France. Kacey Mottet Klein already won the Swiss Film Prize for Best Emerging Actor in 2009 for his performance in “Home” – Ursula Meier’s cinema film debut.

In the running for a César as Best Foreign Film
The fiction film “A perdre la raison” by Belgian director Joachim Lafosse – a coproduction between Belgium, France, Luxemburg and Switzerland (Box Productions, Renens), is among the seven works competing for a César Award as Best Foreign Film. The film celebrated its world premiere in 2012 in Cannes, where it also won an award.
