Ursula Meier is a member of the international jury at the International Film Festival in Moscow. Switzerland is present in the competition with Marcel Gisler’s fiction film “Rosie.” Furthermore, the most prominent festival in Russia will pay tribute to Ursula Meier with a retrospective. Russia will be the country of focus for film programmes mediated by SWISS FILMS until 2015.

This year marks the 35th edition of the International Film Festival in Moscow (June 20-29, 2013). It is the country’s most eminent festival. festival, presided over by Russian film director and actor Nikita Mikhalkov. Marcel Gisler’s “Rosie” will be among the 16 works screened in the International Competition. The film’s director, leading actress Sibylle Brunner and actor Sebastian Ledesma will present the award-winning film personally in Moscow.

The Swiss film director Ursula Meier is one of the five members of the jury for the films screened in competition. In addition, the festival is paying tribute to the director with a retrospective comprised of the following films: the film “Sister,” which was honoured with the Silver Bear 2012 and Swiss Film Award; the multi-award-winning fiction film “Home” together with “Des épaules solides,” “Pas les flics, pas les noirs, pas les blancs” – both of which were produced in 2002 – and the short film “Le songe d’Isaac” (1994).

Russia as focus country until 2015
SWISS FILMS, the promotion agency, has initiated the Swiss presence in the Russian capital in collaboration with Pro Helvetia and its “Swiss Made in Russia” cultural exchange programme. The International Festival in Moscow is one of the 12 international festivals granted competitive status by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). Russia is the focus country for film programmes mediated by SWISS FILMS until 2015.
