Major Swiss presence at Bavarian “Fünf-Seen Filmfestival”
The Filmfest München is barely over and Swiss filmmaking is standing proud once again near the Bavarian capital. Paul Riniker’s feature film “Sommervögel” will open the 5th “Fünf-Seen Filmfestival” (July 27 - August 7, 2011).

Swiss documentary films screened in competition and thus in the running for a monetary prize amounting to EUR 2,000 include: "Beyond This Place" by Kaleo La Belle; "Goodnight Nobody" by Jacqueline Zünd; "Kampf der Königinnen" by Nicolas Steiner; and "Le paysage intérieur" by Pierre Maillard. Screened in the short film competition are: "Bam Tchak" by Marie-Elsa Sgualdo; "Down This Road" by Vinz Feller; "Le miroir" by Ramon & Pedro; "Ronaldo" by Jan Mettler and Jan-Eric Mack; "Stick Climbing" by Daniel Zimmermann; "Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46" by Anthony Vouardoux; and the animation film "Schlaf" by Claudius Gentinetta and Frank Braun. While the two feature films "Silberwald" by Christine Repond and "Songs Of Love And Hate" by Katalin Gödrös are among the five films in the running for the Young Generation Award, endowed with EUR 1,000, the 30-minute film "Dürä..!" by Quinn Reimann and Rolf Lang is competing for Short Plus Award. "Sommervögel" by Paul Riniker and "Fliegende Fische" by Güzin Kar are contenders for the Audience Prize.
No less than five Swiss film directors will attend the midsummer event in the five Bavarian towns of Starnberg, Seefeld, Herrsching, Wessling and Wörthsee: Paul Riniker, Erik Bernasconi, Pierre-Adrian Irlé, Christine Repond and Katalin Gödrös will present their works personally at the festival.
