Michael Koch, 2004 Swiss Shooting Star, is presenting “Ready, Steady, Charlie!” (Director: Mike Eschmann, Production: Lukas Hobi/Zodiac Pictures) at the Hamburg Filmfest (September 23-30, 2004). Among 21 European Shooting Stars, five actors and actresses have been invited to accompany their movies to the Hamburg event. The tour continues on to Barcelona, where all 21 new talents will be introduced on the occasion of the European Film Awards on December 11th. The Shooting Star events, organized for up-and-coming European actresses and actors by the European Film Promotion (EFP) for the seventh time, had their first highlight at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2004, where the Shooting Stars Awards were presented by festival director Dieter Kosslick.
Michael Koch, lead actor in the ongoing movie theatre success “Ready, Steady, Charlie!”, is playing a drug addict in the new television movie “Tod einer Ärztin” (Death of a woman doctor) by Markus Fischer, adapted from the crime novel by Hansjörg Schneider. The movie was shot in summer 2004 and features Mathias Gnädinger, Charlotte Heinimann, Gilles Tschudi, and Jürg Löw.

“Ready, Steady, Charlie!” has recently been screened at the Czech “Festival of European Film Smiles” in Mlada Boleslav (near Prague). After participating at the Hamburg Filmfest, it will be shown at SWISSAM 2004, the Swiss American Film Festival, in New York, from November 5 – 11.
