Montreal selects three Swiss films

01.09.2003

The president of the film festival in Montreal, Serge Losique, has again selected three Swiss productions for the upcoming program: “Au sud des nuages” by Jean- François Amiguet, “Little Girl Blue” by Anna Luif and “Des épaules solides” by Ursula Meier which were all previously shown at the 56th annual Locarno International Film Festival. The “Festival des Films du Monde”, taking place for the 27th time from August 27 – September 7, 2003, in Montreal, Canada, is one of the most important film events in North America. The presence of these Swiss films in the “European Films” selection is a tribute to the close cultural ties between the French-speaking territory in Canada and its Swiss counterpart, the Romandie, where two of the films originate.
“Au sud des nuages” by Jean- François Amiguet was the opening film for the 56th International Film Festival in Locarno, while “Little Girl Blue” by Anna Luif was presented in the section “Pardi di domain”. “Des épaules solides“ was shown in its “Appellations Suisse” section. Ursula Meier, Anna Luif and scriptwriter Micha Lewinsky will be present at the Festival des Films du Monde in Montreal.
