Pierre-Yves Borgeaud presents his films in Beijing

Swiss director Pierre-Yves Borgeaud will be featured at the “Filmmaker in Focus” at the Crossing Festival in Beijing. He is the tenth documentary filmmaker from Switzerland to present works in Beijing and participate in a cultural exchange with Chinese filmmakers.

Swiss director Pierre-Yves Borgeaud will be featured at the “Filmmaker in Focus” at the Crossing Festival in Beijing. He is the tenth documentary filmmaker from Switzerland to present works in Beijing and participate in a cultural exchange with Chinese filmmakers.

Swiss director Pierre-Yves Borgeaud is the “Filmmaker in Focus” at the interdisciplinary Crossing Festival held at the CCD Workstation in Beijing from September 24 – October 5, 2013. He will present his films “Viramundo – Un voyage musical avec Gilberto Gil” (2013), “Retour à Gorée” (2007), “Family Music” (2004), “iXième” (2003) and “Inland” (2001). In addition, he will conduct a six-day workshop with eight Chinese documentary filmmakers. Apart from hosting the “Filmmaker in Focus,” the Crossing Festival will also present recent Chinese documentary films and dance performances, while fostering the exchange among filmmakers.

Collaboration with the Chinese CCD Workstation
With Pierre-Yves Borgeaud as the tenth Swiss documentary filmmaker to be featured in Beijing, SWISS FILMS continues the collaboration initiated in 2008 with its dedicated and inspiring Chinese partner the CCD Workstation, which hosts the Crossing Festival in autumn and the May Festival in spring.

The cultural exchange was launched in autumn 2008 with Peter Liechti. Since then Edna Politi, Fernand Melgar, Vadim Jendreyko, Christian Frei, Anka Schmid, Béatrice Bakthi, Fabienne Abramovich and Luc Schaedler have been featured guests in Beijing.
