The fiction film “Rosie” by Swiss director Marcel Gisler is up for a nomination for the European Film Award, which will be presented on December 7, 2013.

Marcel Gisler’s film “Rosie” (producer, Cobra Film, Zurich) is on this year’s selection list for the European Film Award 2013, as announced by the European Film Academy (EFA) on September 9. A total of 46 European film productions were selected for this year’s list of films recommended for a nomination. In the coming months some 2,900 members of the European Film Academy will vote for the nominations in the following categories: Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenwriter. The nominations will be announced at the Seville European Film Festival in Spain on November 9. The award ceremony of the winners of the European Film awards will take place in Berlin on December 7.

Great recognition for “Rosie”
After celebrating its premiere at the Solothurn Film Festival, “Rosie” was invited to major festivals in Moscow and San Francisco, among others; the film will be screened in November at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Sibylle Brunner, the film’s leading actress, was honoured with the Swiss Film Award 2013.
