Strong Swiss appearance at the Animated Film Festival Annecy

At the 32nd International Animated Film Festival in Annecy, taking place from June 9-14, 2008, not less than nine Swiss films will be presented. Among the 73 graduate films, selected for the competition, are four Swiss short films such as the animation films “La main de l'ours” by Marina Rosset, “The Bellringer” by Dustin Rees, “Tôt ou tard” by Jadwiga Kowalska and “Haaf and Me In: Swing Beijing” by Oliver Aemisegger. These four films have all been produced at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art (HSLU).
The short film “Die Seilbahn” by Claudius Gentinetta and Frank Braun as well as “27 Years” by Raymond Höpfliger will be screened out of competition in the Panorama section. The film by Geneva-based director Zoltan Horvath “Dans la peau” will be presented in the special program “Spicy Animation”. The long animation film “Max & Co” by Frédéric and Samuel Guillaume, winner of the 2007 festival's audience award, will be presented on the occasion of an openair-screening. Samuel Guillaume was part of the three-member selection committee of the graduate film competition. The French-Swiss series “La tête dans les flocons” by Bruno Collet, a coproduction between Studio Sapristi (Lausanne) and SRG SSR idée suisse, will be in the competition for TV films.



In order to appropriately celebrate the Swiss appearance in Annecy – one of the globally most important and eldest animated film festivals, SWISS FILMS will host a reception at the Chambre Claire gallery on June 11, where the promotion agency will introduce ist brand new promotion-DVD “swiss shorts_15” with a selection of animation films. Parallel to the festival, the International Animated Film Market MIFA will be held from June 11-13, 2008.
